Keep in mind that for the dealers, this is a life or death existential fight. If Tesla wins, the other car manufacturers aren't far behind.
For Tesla, it's not significantly more important to their success than overcoming general disinterest in electric cars, figuring out how to manufacture batteries for less money, or any of its other business challenges.
- psaintla 12y agoExactly, which is why I never understood why people demonize these car dealerships, yes they are an unnecessary middle man, yes they are annoying to deal with but they are only doing what is logical.
- Zikes 12y agoPayday lenders' circumvention and bending of laws to continue their own existence are equally logical.
- psaintla 12y agoYes, and you shouldn't be angry at them. You should be angry at the people who allow laws to be passed in their favor.
- ceejayoz 12y agoIt's entirely possible and legitimate to be angry at both.
- psaintla 12y agoI don't see the point, you only have control over one of those groups.
- Zikes 12y agoSometimes all you can do is treat the symptoms until a disease has run its course. Government corruption is not going to disappear any time soon, but we can still work to mitigate its effects in some areas.
- ceejayoz 12y agoI'd suspect most people get angry at things they can't control fairly frequently.
- psaintla 12y agoThat doesn't mean it makes sense, for instance someone down voted every one of my comments. Being mad about it would be just as illogical.
- Zikes 12y agoYes. Nobody is immune to judgment for evil deeds just because they acted in their own self-interest.
- ianlevesque 12y agoBecause in general buying a car from one of these car dealerships is a terrible experience.
- geetee 12y agoPeople demonize these car dealerships because after dealing with their sneakiness and incompetence for years, only two words come to mind at the thought of their demise: Good riddance. If your typical car dealership experience was pleasant, there would be some bleeding hearts speaking out in their defense.
- baddox 12y agoIt's logical for the dealers, of course. But it's not logical for society to allow it.
- psaintla 12y agoagreed.
- seanflyon 12y agoLogical does not imply good or even decent. It is logical to steal if you know you can get away with it.
