Ask HN: Using stripe to charge client?

Hey guys, Doing a small gig for someone, but I don't have paypal. Is there a reliable medium to send invoice and get paid for programming work? I am thinking of using Stripe but not sure if this is possible for charging customers directly. Also what should the terms be? 2 weeks prepayment of 40 hours and then repeated payments after?
