Surveillance issue?
- iSloth 12y agoA failure of a transatlantic cable is just going to cause providers (in most cases) to switch their traffic to another transatlantic cable.
- pllbnk 12y agoA few weeks ago I read an article on undersea cables somewhere. I think it was posted on HN. It mentioned about a planned cable between South America and Europe for exactly the reasons you mentioned. A quick duckduckgo gave me this link: http://www.networkworld.com/article/2174686/data-center/eu-mulling-investment-in-south-america-europe-undersea-cable.html http://www.networkworld.com/article/2174686/data-center/eu-m.... It mentions the NSA surveillance as one of the unofficial reasons for laying this cable.
- speeder 12y agoBrazil is actually proposing this after the NSA revelations ( specially the one that our president was personally tapped, she is furious with that )
