We are rewriting a dating web site and the backend is implemented in Go. It exposes functionality as JSON over HTTP (along with some long-polling). We also considered erlang, Haskell, Scala and C# for various reasons. Coming from .NET world, I love the simplicity and power of database/sql in Go. Sometimes it can be too verbose because of error handling, but there is nothing that can't be fixed with a few helper functions.
