Who else finds this as creepy as hell.
- source99 12y agoWho else finds this cool as hell?
- azunds 12y agoImagine when NSA starts to publish such charts. They have really COOL data.
- TomAnthony 12y agoMe too! I think it is great we have progressed to the point where we can have this sort of insight. :)
- TeMPOraL 12y agoCreepy is the new luddism, I think. Seriously, what the hell is so "creepy" about someone knowing your sleep pattern?
- MadManE 12y agoNobody is saying that the technology is creepy. It's the fact that it's not at all private that's creepy. As Uncle Ben said, "With great power comes responsibility." It's an awesome thing to have the power of "big data" to analyze your life and make better decisions. But "big data" needs to be responsible in how they handle that data (and their users' trust).
- davidcbc 12y agoWhich individuals data was compromised in making this chart?
- MadManE 12y agoWe don't know That's the whole point. The fact that they have this data means that they could share it with whoever they want, whenever they want. And we would never know. So in this particular case, it's not a data issue - it's a trust issue.
- davidcbc 12y agoThe Jawbone device is built upon the idea of the company storing the information. It is implicitly implied that if you use the device your data is being stored somewhere because that is what you are paying for them to do
- MadManE 12y agoSure - but that's not the issue that people have with this. The issue is that Jawbone decided to release personal data (aggregated, but still personal) to people who did not own the data. Like I said above. . . it's not a data issue. It's a trust issue.
