It seems to me that this is going to be the cycle for the next decade or so, with PC sales and tablet sales cycling out of phase with each other. Mind you, my own purchases don't reflect this. My current PC I bought 3 years ago, and I've purchased three iPads since (selling the older ones as I went along, they really do retain value quite well, making this a not terribly expensive habit).
