What's more, it's already happening right now, so a better question might be "why do you think making this lifestyle more attractive would make the problem worse"

The birth rate in the US has been steadily declining over the last century. Unemployment rates over the last 80 years oscillate around 6-7% pretty consistently. So... why do you think that?
