If there is One project where a lot of developers would want to hack is definitely their own editor! It's a big dilemma, I love the idea of seeing an open alternative but I also love the possibility to support developers working on what they love! One problem that raise here is that we haven't find a way to ensure that open source projects can bring an incomes to their maintainers, even if there is many users.
