Focus the address bar in Chrome, Safari, and Firefox with ⌘ + L
- lutusp 12y ago> Focus the address bar in Chrome, Safari, and Firefox with ⌘ + L A "⌘" key, really? You could at least mention that you're sitting at a Macintosh.
- sethvargo 12y agoThe post includes a command for Windows as well, but yes, I use a Mac :).
- Fastidious 12y agoOut of curiosity, how long have you used OS X?
- sethvargo 12y agoAbout 4 years, why?
- Fastidious 12y agoThose keystrokes were one of the first things I learned (same applies to Windows). Minimizing the amount of time my hands spend away from the keyboard has always been a plus. I hate the mouse.
- Amezarak 12y agoThese kind of posts are always useful if it never occurred to you check for a keyboard shortcut - I think I would have had a miserable time getting along without Ctrl + L. There are a few others I use on a daily basis in Firefox. There are plenty of others, but these are the ones that get me through the day. Ctrl + T (new tab) Ctrl + W (close tab) Ctrl + Shift + T (undo close tab) Ctrl + K (focus search box) Ctrl + Tab (cycle through tabs) Ctrl + Shift + Tab (reverse cycle through tabs) Ctrl + Shift + P (private browsing)
- sethvargo 12y agoAwesome! Thank you for the extra tips!
