Similarly, I am almost entirely blind in my left eye and have been since birth. I have some very limited peripheral vision, but I can basically only sense light and movement in a very narrow field of view if I try very hard. People have always assumed that what I see out of my left eye is basically what someone would see out of a normal, healthy eye with a big black spot in the middle, but that's not it. I don't see blackness, I see nothing.
