Flexport (YC W14) is hiring founding engineering team members
Flexport helps companies import products from other countries.
Our mission is to bring the world free trade through technology. We are a licensed customs brokerage and freight forwarder built around an online dashboard. We give companies the tools to conduct global trade without regard for geographic distance, logistical complexity or regulatory barriers.
We’ve reached product-market fit, with almost 1,000 customers signed up to use our platform to manage their imports.
Based on this traction and our team’s track record in the industry, we’ve just finished raising $4.25M from investors including Google Ventures, First Round Capital, Bloomberg BETA, Fuel Capital, A GRade Investments, Hydrazine, Initialized, Box Group, Paul Buccheit, Scott Belsky, Matt Humphrey, Wesley Chan, Lee Linden, Scott Banister, and other awesome people.
We are now building out our founding engineering team here in San Francisco. This role is for engineer number 3 on our team, so this is a high impact and high ownership opportunity with competitive salary, solid benefits and very meaningful equity.
If you’re a talented software engineer interested in solving real-world problems, we may be the perfect place for you to come and do the best work of your life.
You would be tasked with creating tools to make it easier for companies of all sizes to participate in global trade.
Projects in our pipeline include creating a booking engine for ocean and air freight, integrating service offerings from partners into our platform, creating machine learning algorithms to classify products, developing APIs customers can use to connect our logistics services with their inventory and accounting systems, implementing OCR and other technologies to make our operating teams more effective, creating tools to visualize data on global trade flows, and more.
If this sounds interesting, come and talk with us about the chance to do your life’s work as a founding engineer in an atmosphere that encourages personal freedom and responsibility.
