Seems like they sent harassing emails to people who leave bad reviews letting them know they are going to charge the wedding host

Agreed, I wasn't suggesting a serious theory, just that it would be an impressive social hack that could be pulled off. I think a lot of these "Internet Vigilantes" would probably fall for it.
