Ask HN: Worthwhile subscription sites/communities

I have a little extra money that I would like to use to pay for content or services online that I wouldn't normally pay for. Anyone have a site/service they really love that they think myself and everyone could benefit from? Or maybe a free site that offers compelling premium content? I wanted to sign up for a local hacker space but don't have the time it would require to take advantage of the services most offer. Here are some ideas I'm looking for * Paid/curated community for learning (pair programming, hacking, hardware, etc.) * Subscription site for content (books, apps, movies, etc.) * Local (LA) community meetings or co-working space I'm not looking for things like Amazon Prime and I already have a few subscriptions to well known paid services (audible, remember the milk, etc.) so I'm looking for the smaller start ups and unknowns that you have found value in.
