YMMV but opening a US bank account as a UK citizen is easy as long as you're present on US soil.
Opened a checking account at a Chase branch in San Francisco with my passport and as many other proofs of address as I could muster. Everything gets delivered to my UK address.
- PeterisP 12y agoProofs of address - meaning proof of your UK address or some USA address? "present on US soil" is a very big IF, the whole point of remote freelancing is to avoid the expenses/visa issues/etc and not be present on US soil.
- ygra 12y agoYou only have to be present there once, I guess, to open the account. Then do everything else online.
