- alexjeffrey 12y agoseriously? that's all you have to add to the conversation?
- brandonhsiao 12y agoI don't think my comment was in the nature of, say, a grammatical correction. If this were my website and someone found a button's hover state off-putting, whether they were right or not I'd want to know about it. I didn't want to comment on the service itself until I had something important to say about it.
- wavefunction 12y agoIt's an incredibly important point for the firm, considering that design decision flies in the face of good design, presumably has been viewed/interacted with by multiple people at the firm, and is somehow still in place in the live site. Details matter and you either get this, or you don't.
- alexjeffrey 12y agowhile I agree that details matter in design, a. it's not a big deal and b. mentioning it doesn't really add to the conversation at hand. I thought HN was all about trying to ensure that comments were useful to the topic?
- saturdayplace 12y agoI think it's a useful bit of feedback.
- cthulhuhodor 12y agothis is HN, this kind of feedback and observations by pros are why I'm here.
- Raphmedia 12y agoHN is filled with web professionals. Of course we are gonna look at your source code and offer fixes.
- baby 12y agoIt's because they tried to do a button effect. But they missed the idea. They have to add a top border of color white on the hover.
- sensecall 12y agoFixed with: .btn:hover { margin-top: 1px; border-bottom-width: 3px; position: relative; top: 1px; margin-bottom: 1px; } .btn:active { top: 2px; border-bottom-width: 2px; -webkit-box-shadow: none; box-shadow: none; margin-bottom: 2px; position: relative; }
