Incidentally, if you're looking for a niche software opportunity, you could do worse than appointment software for dentists. I spent a fair amount of time speaking to dental practice managers about that specific product idea (I was teaching myself to place cold calls, not really interested in it). Almost all dental office managers I spoke to 1) used something called Eaglesoft (www.eaglesoft.net) and 2) hated it.
