Taipei is my top choice. The healthcare is excellent (and free) if you are a Taiwan resident.

- differentView 12y agoIt is very inexpensive compared to the U.S., but it's not free.
- lifeformed 12y agoI think it's like $10 a month? Plus all the services are super cheap. I went to visit my family there, and went to a dentist for a cavity filling. It was very clean and professional, as much as any dentist I've been to in the US. The cost was $6. At those prices it feels pretty much free. You no longer view health expenses as this weird financial burden in your life; instead, it just financially feels like buying a burrito or fixing your bike.
- lifeformed 12y agoI agree, I stayed there recently and it was great. There was amazing, cheap food everywhere, and had really clean and extensive public transportation. It was also very safe feeling.
- frankacter 12y agoIf you make it this way drop me a note and I'll buy you a drink. I've been here 8 years and love it.
- jwksiaw 12y agoI agree with Taipei. I lived there a few years ago, and I loved it. I'm contemplating going back there for a short stint. The one annoying thing, I remember, was that it was relatively annoying to find cheap short term housing (especially if you can't read Chinese).
