I switched an app I'm working on from a desktop app to a web app after doing a similar analysis. You also scratched at something that played a huge part in my decision: monthly subscription fees are a lot better (in terms of both recurring revenue and feature bloat) than an upgrade treadmill. It's great to see empirical evidence (from the same app, no less!) that it makes sense to do so.
