I think there should be a disclaimer somewhere in there... Some problems can't be solved by a web app, or the web app solution will be far worse than the desktop app. There are many such problems, ergo this post applies to a subset of programming problems for which the web is a better model. Thus, while I enjoyed reading this post, I don't think it says much that we don't already know.
