In Wilmington, which the parent comment mentioned, the power is run by Duke Energy.
The water & sewer is public, and is subject to frequent breaks and spillages as a result of how outdated the infrastructure is.
- orbifold 12y agoNothing would guarantee that a private coorporation would somehow magically upgrade the water and sewer system. Since they are profit based they would probably just do the minimum required by law. The only thing that could possibly work, would be that the infrastructure is still owned by the city and it awards operation contracts every 10 or so years.
