Do you mean 802.11ac? Many new radios use 802.11ac[0], although maybe the rush is smaller than that for 802.11n. 802.11ad is a 60 Ghz protocol, a different frequency than 802.11n or ac use. It looks like 802.11ad would mostly be used as a sort of wireless USB or HDMI, [1] not networking, because it doesn't penetrate walls.
