I'll put $50 into this if a feature of version 3 is supporting an optional serializer / renderer that follows the "JSON API" spec (http://jsonapi.org/ http://jsonapi.org/), to support output similar to rails' ActiveModelSerializers.
Anyone working with EmberJS would find this desirable because that is the default format of API it expects.
