- darklajid 12y agoPlease. I laughed so hard it hurt just now. First of all, thanks a lot. So that'd be the way to sign up as "Ben". Now please revisit my original post. Did you notice what my name was, before the profile got blocked? I'll post it again. It was "Ben .". Now this hotel bar has to help me forget this link of yours as soon as possible or I'll shake my head until it falls off..
- Leynos 12y agoIf you enter a '.' as your surname, will G+ omit this when displaying your name?
- aiiane 12y agoYes. It will be rendered in G+ as a mononym.
- Mithaldu 12y agoIf it does, then it does so inconsistently. For me it doesn't on the About page: https://plus.google.com/u/0/115709092170300569371/about https://plus.google.com/u/0/115709092170300569371/about
- aiiane 12y agoThere was a bug uncovered as part of the launch today where some of them aren't rendering properly - there's a fix in the works; the dot should disappear when it goes live without any action on your part. (Don't know when it will go live yet.)
- gwillen 12y agoNote that your link doesn't appear to say anything about that. Might you be seeing an internal revision? (The current revision visible to the public appears to predate the policy change; perhaps a new version was meant to be pushed but has not been.)
- darklajid 12y agoI assume you missed the reference. Below troubleshooting it lists "You only have one name" and explains this amazing solution there. That was already present on this page when I first visited the link yesterday.
- gwillen 12y agoYou're absolutely right, I failed to read closely enough.
