This is the first time I've seen this misconception, and I have to admit it make me chuckle a bit.
"Y!" is a trademark of Yahoo, which has no connection to Y Combinator (which is spelled without any exclamation mark).
- DigitalSea 12y agoI had just finished drafting up an article on Yahoo when I wrote that, so in my head I had the letter Y followed by an exclamation mark. Surprised, it's not a mistake a lot of people frequently make.
