SQLite is great for its mobile crossplatform availability. We recently used for a crossplatform app (with Xamarin) on iOS, Android and Windows Phone. However, we found the WP version of SQLite to be much much slower than SQLite on iOS and Android, where it is built-in. On WP, SQLite cost about 3 seconds extra on application start up. Eventually we replaced SQLite with custom json serialization to get the the same performance as iOS/Android.
