- DanBC 12y agoI get pretty awful phone reception when I'm on the number 10 bus travelling between Cheltenham and Gloucester. A phone might provide some safety while camping - but it absolutely would not be part of the safety planning.
- yzzxy 12y agoWhile it's true that a non satellite phone is never a good panic button, in my experience, [a] danger doesn't always correlate to distance from civilization. [b] cell reception can be astoundingly good in the mountains, probably because of clearer lines of sight.
