We have operational code which combines Tor with Bittorrent. Operates exactly as you describe in this delightful read.
Current download speed is 23Mbit/sec for a 3-hop Tor onion circuit on average laptop. We're in contact with the real Tor people.

- synchronise 12y agoI2P still preserves anonimity with its connections, the same cannot be said about using Tor in this client-relay fashion. I would still recommend I2P for a project like this, anonimity is the key goal here.
- heinrich5991 12y agoI don't know, Tor has more people and organisations developing it, if I had to trust one, Tor would be more likely the result.
- obvio171 12y agoThat's great news! From what I saw, it seems like you implement onion routing separately from the Tor network, right? Do you have plans to integrate this into the official network as a way to incentivize relays too?
