And keep in mind that many of us will very happily pay for this. I think it's admirable to want to do this for free, but it's unsustainable. You deserve to be paid for your time. And it will only create a feedback loop of higher quality content that more people want, which you can gauge by whether people are paying.
- richardw 12y agoI know someone who does very well off a how-to website, no payments but advertising and evergreen content. Especially since customers are Linuxy, he might not want to put a paywall up unless he's very sure. Alternatively, create videos for tools that only real companies would use and charge for those. E.g. Puppet, Chef etc.
