I'm going to go ahead and assume that most developers don't have access to the millions of dollars in market research, analytics, focus groups, design theory, etc. etc. etc. that Google and Apple do. Why would we abandon an aesthetic (that as of the L preview) that is two of the best and cleanest looking interfaces on the planet?
