I was recently pulling together the wide variance in SSL Cert providers. The real work is figuring out which CA cert your cert will be issued on, then determining device/software package compatibility. (Chrome on Windows uses Windows CA store, Firefox on Windows uses it's own, Java uses its own, and all of those stores may or may not be routinely updated)
