This is one of the most profound revelations so far. Yet, HN just buried it off their front page. Wow.

- bendoernberg 12y agoInfuriating. I also just lost the ability to downvote posts and comments...
- aspensmonster 12y agoAnd it seems I'm still slowbanned/hellbanned :D I'm thinking that something like /r/undelete for HN could be really useful.
- dang 12y ago> I also just lost the ability to downvote posts and comments That is false. You really should follow the HN guidelines and take such matters up with us at hn@ycombinator.com. Why post, or even think, untrue things about your HN account, when it's so easy to find out what's going on?
- aburan28 12y agoI do not understand why there are moderators on this site. I mean what's the point of the upvote/downvote buttons?
- electic 12y agoApparently they are pointless.
- dang 12y ago"HN" didn't bury it. Users flagged it. There is also a mild penalty automatically applied to NSA stories (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=8008437 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=8008437). But it's the user flags that are mostly weighing this one down.
