Love seeing the reasoning behind the curtain of design. I like the idea of the Y-Meter, with the current system the points are somewhat meaningless unless compared against each other and the meter makes that a lot easier to visually parse. Let's try it! Side notes on my own user preferences: I personally like seeing how fresh something is, as if something's on the homepage and brand new it's probably pretty important -- I also use the number of comments as a gauge, and splitting them to the side might make this harder. How will this layout work on mobile?
