Ended up with a Dell M3800. It's the base model with 1080p screen. I added an mSATA SSD. The XPS 15 is the same thing but the GPU is flashed with the Radeon drivers vs. the Quadro. I needed Windows/Quadro for best compatibility with CAD software. "Retina" screens don't make much difference in my productivity imo.
