I really am unproductive in an open-floor office.
The noise and the visual distractions are too much for me.
- temon 12y agoyes, noise from other office friends make me very unproductive. They are usually singing or laugh out loud
- MaulingMonkey 12y agoI currently work in an open-floor environment. There is an unmarked divide: One half is quiet and somber, one half is full of energy. I've worked on both sides, and even with everything else the same - the building, the general layouts, the people (even down to who I'm sitting next to because they moved sides with me) - the difference in distractions is staggering. Noise cancelling headphones are a must for me at this point. I was a bit more productive even without them on the other side. Extrapolating, I wager I'd be even more productive in a proper office.
