It would be really interesting if, once the designs are open source, someone has an "aha!" moment and discovers why hard drives fail so much.
- wmf 17y agoThis is a server design, so it won't tell you anything about why hard disks fail. Also, I suspect that people who design hard disks know why they fail; they just don't feel like sharing that information with the public.
