I think the next few years will be just as interesting. HP plan to bring their Memristor based systems to market in 2019. If Samsung's plans go to schedule, they will be selling 8 TB SSDs for under US$1000 in a 2.5" form factor. While not the "flat" memory architecture promised by HP, that is certainly a price that will make SSDs competitive with platter drives for a much wider range of applications. Not only in terms of performance but physical space occupied.
