This article defines many of the reasons that I've been disillusioned about American "sports". They are just a money making vehicle at the expense of society. Just recently (like an hour ago) someone from MLS was on ESPN talking about making MLS the best league in the world (seriously?) "so that our fans get ENTERTAINED by the best players in the world". It's football (or soccer), a sport, a passion, a social endeavor, not an entertainment, corporate money making vehicle. No wonder MLS is a laughing stock for the rest of the world. There is nothing wrong in making a profit, but at the expense of society? P.S: Sounders and Timber fans, you guys rock!!
