I honestly don't know what would possess people to ride a bicycle on a busy street, bike lane or no. Quality of life -- I do it so that I don't have to deal with the anger, frustration, and sunk time and money that seems to be inherent in driving (and owning) a car. I haven't died yet. Knock on wood
