No such thing as a dumb question. (My answer could be dumb, though) I guess you would be limited by a couple of things: You don't have scale. To produce cheap you need scale. Go ARM for cheap processors and emulate whatever circuitry you want. It will probably be cheaper for most applications. Power consumption would be prohibitive. Huge upfront costs for a market that is quickly fading away.
