- pstrateman 12y agoNo, that is exactly the problem. This eliminates mining pools entirely. The only players who need mining pools are the small individual miners. The end result of this change would be a move towards centralization. Exactly the opposite of the intended effect.
- evv 12y agoEliminating pools entirely is the intended effect. We need to avoid pooling in order to prevent centralized parties like GHash from emerging.
- maaku 12y agoIt shouldn't be. Mining pools are a solution, not the problem. The problem is centralization transaction selection, which is an entirely orthogonal problem. The OP gets rid of pooling and pushes miners to hosted solutions, which is far, far worse.
- fleitz 12y agoIf you control all the hardware in a pool there's no chance a miner would steal the coins, hence 'pools' in the sense of different owners would be eliminated, and the result would be a few individuals with large pools.
- javert 12y agoI think you're making a very good point.
