Tech startup in the life sciences seeks full-time biz dev rep – Quartzy (YC S11)

Quartzy (www.quartzy.com) is a fast growing tech startup that specializes in the management of life science labs through its online platform. Our mission is to advance science by helping researchers save time and money. We already have over 50,000 users at major academic institutions as well as pharma and biotech companies, but now we are looking to grow quickly and aggressively. To do this, we're building something like an inside sales team, and we are seeking a Business Development Rep to facilitate this growth, drive user engagement, and help take the company to the next level. In this role, you will often be the first point of contact with prospective users who are interested in Quartzy. The position focuses on communicating with these users, understanding their needs, educating them on the product, and assisting them in deploying the software in their own labs. To start, here's what you'll do: - Webinars - conduct remote webinars with potential users to educate them on the product - Deployment assistance - follow up with users in order to help them transition to the new system - Customer interaction - respond to users via email and phone in order to understand the product & user needs Requirements: - Bachelors degree - 1-2 years work experience - Must be very detail oriented, have fantastic organizational skills, and be a great communicator (both phone & written) - Positive, outgoing, energetic, and friendly attitude Extra credit: - Bachelors degree in BIOLOGICAL science - Work experience in customer support, sales, or life-science research lab - Familiarity with Sales Force & Webinar Programs This is a front-facing position during an exciting time for the company, so you must be eager to take on more responsibility and excited by a fast-paced environment.
