If you follow the link (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/oldnewthing/archive/2012/08/31/10345196.aspx http://blogs.msdn.com/b/oldnewthing/archive/2012/08/31/10345...), they're optimizing undefined behavior. Proper code won't be overly optimized.
