I'm not sure it's American vs non-American. As originally pointed out, this will be covered in great detail in the American mainstream media. It was on the radio as I woke up this morning, it was on the TV as I headed out the door. It's in the NYT. It already is and will be everywhere. Thus even for Americans, what's the point of ALSO having it on HN? The discussion? But how can any discussion on this topic be anything other then politics?
