He did pay one serious price in that incident made him unelectable as US President.
- gloob 17y agoGiven the free choice of X number of years in jail or not being able to become president, I have a feeling the vast majority of people being tried for the various forms of manslaughter, murder, etc. would be thrilled to choose the second. That's probably a solid sign that the punishment is not really all that comparable in magnitude.
- hughprime 17y agoIt should have made him unelectable as Senator as well. If his name had been Smith instead of Kennedy then it would have.
