All press is good press?
I do wonder why TechCrunch's startup reviews are almost always glowing. What kind of pressure is there on these media outlets to write positive articles? Is there any incentive to not rip into companies like BusinessInsider did here?

- noelchurchill 17y agoSure but it's only libel if it's not true. And, as the author of this post did, you're always free to update the post as the owners contact you and additional info is made available.
- anamax 17y ago> Sure but it's only libel if it's not true. Truth is a defense against libel in the US, but not in all other countries. For example, truth is not a defense in the UK.
- jkincaid 17y agoThey aren't always glowing. But in my case I'd rather write about a startup I like than one I don't, so if there is a trend toward positive reviews that probably explains it.
- mrshoe 17y agoThat sounds like a sensible explanation. Please don't see my comment as an invitation to post a scathing review of my startup. ;-)
