I certainly agree with the overall idea, particularly in the context of 'just starting'. However, I find it odd that it's seen as such a wide-ranging absolute in these comments. These days, I'm not given to thinking of number of 'machines' as a sole or even primary axis of complexity. Like so many things, it depends.
