If it were built, it would probably have very low efficiency and Turkmenistan cant afford to build low efficiency power plants. In other words, I think the reason is purely bureaucratic.
- tempestn 12y agoMore cost-effective would almost certainly be to extinguish the fire with a bunch of concrete or something, then harvest the gas. Apparently not cost-effective enough to be viable though.
