Meta:
Someone downvoted 30+ posts on here, all in a few minutes. That's not really how downvoting is supposed to work. If people are submitting spammy or offtopic freelancer posts, then downvote them, or if a person has a really awesome freelance post, then upvote them, but don't game the system and make everyone's posts grey.
- donniezazen 12y agoDownvoting should cost downvoter too.
- sergiotapia 12y agoSeriously, what kind of person does that. If Dang has access to the downvoters name, maybe he should have his downvote permissions revoked.
- ritchiea 12y agoAgreed, I noticed a downvote and was concerned that I had unintentionally angered someone. Mass downvoting in this thread to push your name to the top is seriously inappropriate behavior.
- yen223 12y agoThis reminds me of the US elections - there are strict rules regulating financing ads for a candidate, so candidates wind up running a lot more ads against their opponents: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1112/83262.html http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1112/83262.html. Just another victim of the laws of unintended consequence I guess.
- eaurouge 12y agoI'm not aware of campaign finance laws regulating positive or negative ad campaigns. It's not mentioned in the linked article, do you have another link?
- krschultz 12y agoThere is a limit on the downvote/upvote ratio. At some point (relatively quickly) you lose downvote privileges if you start ass downvoting.
- dang 12y agoThe account that did this is banned unless and until we get a promise that it will never happen again.
- danenania 12y agoPersonally, I wouldn't be offering any 'unless' for that type of behavior.
