I can attest to the effectiveness of the iPad app on my 5 year old. This app stimulated her interest in reading even more than us reading to her every night. She now reads at close to a 2nd grade level. I was amazed to find out that she had been discovering books via the app completely on her own. She would have the app read a book to her, then turn off the auto-reading and learn to read it by herself. Now she uses the app to read to her little sister. Kudos to Levar Burton and all those involved in bringing Reading Rainbow to the next generation on a new medium!
