Yeah it'd be nice if they used something like UFO ( http://unifiedfontobject.org/ http://unifiedfontobject.org/), or even Fontforge's SFD. It should be possible to take each binary OTF, export it with fontforge, and create a "mirror" repository where you can see the changes in a more human-readable format.
